Review Description:

This review concentrates on complete verification of spectacles and contact lenses, interpretation of  fluorescein patterns of fitted rigid contact lenses, and recognition of ocular conditions and pathology.

Examination Topics Covered:

  • Verification of contact lens types: spherical, front toric, bi-toric.
  • Keratometry: verification and proper recording of K readings.
  • Recognition, demonstration, and commonality of different slit-lamp illuminations.
  • Ocular pathology and other problems related to contact lens wear such as vascularity, edema, ulcer, keratitis, conjunctivitis, GPC, keratoconus, and dimple veiling.
  • Identification of contact lens fitting: fluorescein patterns, staining, adverse reactions to contact lenses.
