Course Description:
A comprehensive overview of contact lenses including the principles and rationale of fitting. This course should be taken before taking the state or national boards.
Open to all levels of ophthalmic personnel.

- Essentials of pre-fitting evaluation and assessment techniques.
- How to calculate contact lens data from spectacle data.
- Types of contact lenses and their uses.
- Selecting the correct lens type for the wearer.
- Explanation of contact lens instrumentation and its uses, (slit lamp, keratometer, radiuscope,modification unit).
- Fluorescein pattern assessment.
- Parameter evaluation techniques.
- Special techniques in fitting for keratoconus, transplants, and other corneal topographies.
