Washington State Licensed Dispensing Opticians as well as other ophthalmic personnel, such as ophthalmic and optometric assistants and technicians, optometrists, ophthalmologists, and nurses (RN & LPN and CNA). Nurses who are not in ophthalmics are usually able to earn CE credits from Bernie by correspondence. Check with your agency if any questions. Bernie Stewart is approved by the Washington State Department of Health to offer continuing education by correspondence to Washington Licensed Dispensing Opticians (LDO) and other ophthalmic and health care personnel. If you are already a Washington LDO you are eligible to receive CE by correspondence from Bernie. At the preset time the requirement for Washington LDO's is 30 hours of CE every three years. At least 15 (or up to all 30) of the 30 hour CE requirement must be in contact lenses for a Washington LDO. Washington State will accept only 15 optical credits toward the 30 credit requirement no matter how many optical credits an LDO has.
Note: Continuing education by correspondence is available for all states and for all ophthalmic and health care personnel. However it is your responsibility to please check with your licensing or certifying agency to see if you are able to receive continuing education by correspondence. There is no refund for errors of omission on your part.
Tuition: $14 per credit plus shipping.
